The 2011 les Clos from Domaine Dauvissat is a bit more reserved than the utterly suave les Preuses from this vintage, but its inherent quality is every bit as easy to read. The deep and stunning nose offers up a youthful mix of pink grapefruit, green apple, complex, very flinty minerality, a touch of hay, orange zest and a gentle base of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nascently complex, with great purity and focus, glorious mid-palate depth and brilliant length and grip on the snappy and still quite primary finish. A great wine in the making. Drink between 2018-2045. - JG
