The Grenache-led 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Boisrenard aged for one year in foudre, coming in at 15.5% alcohol. It has an edge over the traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which is expected as it sells at a higher price. The 2020 Cuvée Boisrenard bursts from the glass with enticing aromas of rose petals, crushed violets, precisely defined red cherry, raspberry, strawberry and a twist of lavender and mint. Full-bodied and tightly-structured, I would give this at least four more years in bottle. - VM
